Raipur: Raipur City South Bypoll 2024 : Approx. 2.71 lakh voters are casting their votes of Raipur City South on Wednesday November 13, 2024 . There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the voters regarding voting. People are queuing up since morning for the Raipur City South bypoll . 8.23 percent voting has taken place in the first two hours. Meanwhile, BJP Raipur City South candidate Sunil Soni reached the polling booth with family at Nayapara, where he exercised his franchise.
This is going to be a direct contest between Congress and BJP. Congress candidate Akash Sharma along with his family cast his vote at the polling booth in Sundar Nagar and after casting his vote, Akash Sharma said that after 35 years the record of South Assembly is going to be broken, I am confident that the voters of South will vote for Congress. This election is of inactivity versus activism.
BJP candidate Sunil Soni will go to vote at Maharana Pratap School, Edward Road at 11:00 am.
There are 2,71,169 voters in this constituency including 1,33,800 men and 1,37,317 women and 52 transgenders. A total of 253 polling stations have been set up for the by-election. Five companies of security personnel are being deployed to maintain law and order. Counting of votes will take place on November 23, 2024 .

Currently Brijmohan Agarwal is the MP of Raipur. After being elected to the Lok Sabha from Raipur parliamentary constituency, BJP MLA and former state minister Brijmohan Agarwal resigned, Due to that seat got vacant . Now bypoll is being held for this seat.
