Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday July 26, 2026 said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s repeated references to Chhattisgarh in successive editions of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ reflect the state’s growing national recognition and are a matter of pride for every resident.
The Chief Minister made the remarks after listening to the 136th episode of Mann Ki Baat along with youth, public representatives, and citizens at Daya Bhavan, Fafadih, in Raipur.
‘Mann Ki Baat’ Gives National Recognition to Positive Initiatives
Speaking after the broadcast, Sai described Mann Ki Baat as a unique platform through which the Prime Minister highlights inspiring stories, innovations, and community-driven initiatives from across the country.
He said the programme has become an effective medium for recognizing individuals, institutions, and grassroots movements that contribute to nation-building without seeking publicity or personal recognition.
Chhattisgarh’s Achievements Continue to Receive National Recognition
The Chief Minister noted that over the past several months, Prime Minister Modi has repeatedly showcased Chhattisgarh’s achievements, cultural heritage, and innovative initiatives during Mann Ki Baat.
He recalled that earlier broadcasts featured:
- The rich archaeological heritage of Malhar.
- The Bastar Olympics, promoting sports and youth participation.
- Bastar Pandum, celebrating the state’s tribal traditions and cultural diversity.
According to Sai, each mention has enhanced Chhattisgarh’s national identity while encouraging local communities and innovators.
“The repeated mention of Chhattisgarh’s achievements in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is a matter of immense pride for every citizen of the state. It reflects the growing national recognition of our innovations, culture, and community-led development initiatives,” he said.
During the latest episode, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the remarkable work being carried out in Korba district under the Catch the Rain Campaign, particularly efforts related to rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and the restoration of traditional water bodies.
PM Appreciates Korba’s Water Conservation Model
Welcoming the recognition, Sai said Korba has adopted scientific methods for water conservation, including:
- Geospatial mapping.
- Shallow aquifer management.
- Recharge wells.
- Modern groundwater recharge techniques.
He said these initiatives aim to conserve every drop of rainwater, improve groundwater levels, and ensure long-term water security.
The Chief Minister emphasized that water conservation is no longer merely an environmental issue but a necessity for agriculture, sustainable development, and future generations.
State Government to Expand Water Conservation as a People’s Movement
Sai reiterated that the state government is committed to transforming water conservation into a mass public campaign.
He said ongoing initiatives include:
- Rainwater harvesting.
- Groundwater recharge.
- Restoration of ponds and traditional water bodies.
- Large-scale tree plantation.

The Chief Minister stressed that conservation efforts should extend beyond government schemes and become a shared responsibility of every citizen.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s opening remarks in Mann Ki Baat, Sai paid homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1999 Kargil War.
He said Kargil Vijay Diwas symbolises the unmatched courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces and continues to inspire generations to serve the nation.
Support for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’
The Chief Minister also endorsed Prime Minister Modi’s appeal to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day through the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
He urged citizens across Chhattisgarh to proudly hoist the National Flag at their homes and institutions as a symbol of unity, patriotism, and national pride.
Promoting Local Products and Sustainable Festivals
Sai welcomed the Prime Minister’s renewed emphasis on ‘Vocal for Local’, saying Chhattisgarh’s tribal handicrafts, Kosa silk, handloom textiles, bell metal craft, bamboo products, pottery, and forest-based products possess enormous economic and cultural potential.
He also appealed to citizens to use eco-friendly clay idols during the upcoming Ganesh festival, noting that locally made idols support traditional artisans while reducing environmental pollution.
The Chief Minister further encouraged citizens to actively participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to build a greener Chhattisgarh.

Sai praised Indian youth for their achievements in science, sports, innovation, and space technology, referring to the successful launch of the privately developed Vikram-1 rocket and India’s outstanding performance in international science Olympiads.
He said these accomplishments demonstrate the confidence, talent, and innovation of India’s younger generation.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to providing quality education, skill development, sports infrastructure, and innovation opportunities to enable Chhattisgarh’s youth to contribute to the vision of a Developed India and a Developed Chhattisgarh.
