Launched on October 10, 2026, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the campaign aims to familiarise children with their rights and the support systems available to them.
School sessions encourage children to speak about safety concerns and understand the steps they can take when they face insecurity, exploitation or abuse. Personal safety and responsible online behaviour are among the subjects being discussed.
Coordinated activities in Raipur and Gariaband
The first phase of school awareness activities in Raipur and Gariaband districts is being conducted from October 26 to 31.
A district-level coordination committee has been formed, bringing together the District Education Officer, Child Welfare Police Officer, Women and Child Development Department and Cyber Crime Department.
Programmes at selected schools are being conducted under the directions of Balram Prasad Verma, Principal District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority.
The coordinated approach brings legal awareness, education, policing and child protection services together to help students understand both their rights and the practical routes to assistance.
Personal safety and safer online behaviour
The school programmes address themes including:
- My Childhood, My Right
- Know the Law, Protect Childhood
- Safe Clicks, Safe Childhood
- Speak Up, Tell Someone, Stay Safe
- No Child Marriage, No Child Exploitation
Support persons associated with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences framework, members of the Juvenile Justice Board and Child Welfare Committee, and child psychology specialists are interacting with children.
Their participation provides an opportunity to discuss legal protection alongside children’s emotional and psychological needs.
Law students support awareness activities
Teachers and students from nearby law colleges are also contributing through street plays, quizzes, drawing and painting activities.
These activities are intended to make information about rights and safety easier for children to understand and remember. They also support the wider goal of creating a safer environment in which children know how and where to ask for help.
Awareness to continue beyond the campaign
Schools have been directed to continue activities related to child protection and children’s intellectual and psychological development after the campaign period ends.
The initiative therefore seeks to make safety awareness an ongoing part of school life, rather than limiting it to a single programme.
