Syria Crisis: All Indian citizens in Syria are safe, embassy is fully active; MEA issued advisory

Syria Crisis: Sources associated with the Indian government said that all Indian citizens in Syria are safe. The Indian Embassy is fully active in Damascus and is in touch with all its citizens

The Bashar al-Assad government has collapsed in Syria with the capture of Damascus by Islamic rebel groups. Meanwhile, sources associated with the Indian government said that all Indian citizens in Syria are safe. According to sources, the Indian Embassy is fully active in Damascus and is in touch with all Indian citizens. The embassy has also said that it is available to help Indian citizens.

Foreign Ministry issued advisory

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs issued an advisory for Indian citizens in Syria and said that those who can leave from there should come out as soon as possible with the help of available commercial flights. At the same time, others were requested that Indians living there should be especially careful about their safety and avoid unnecessary movement. The ministry has also issued an emergency helpline number +963 993385973.
