The capital has become a hub of crime: After three murders and a gang rape within 48 hours, a dead body was found again, people are scared!

Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur has becoming a hub of crime these days. The incidents that happened within the last 48 hours have shaken the entire city. After three murders and a gang rape incident, now the body of a middle-aged man has been found in a drain in the city in suspicious condition. These continuous incidents have raised questions on law and order.

Middle-aged man’s body found in drain
The latest case is from Kotwali police station area. The body of a middle-aged man was found in the drain near the indoor stadium, which caused a sensation in the area. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder. Additional Superintendent of Police, two TIs and a heavy police force are present at the crime scene. Kotwali police has started investigation by registering a case.

Friend killed with a shovel

On Tuesday November 19, 2021 night, a laborer killed his friend with a shovel in Purani Basti police station area. There was a dispute between the two over money. Accused Nohar Manikpuri attacked Santosh Kumar and killed him. Police arrested the accused on the spot.

According to the information, Santosh Kumar (40 years) and Nohar Manikpuri (23 years), who worked as laborers in Vinayak City, lived together. Late night, after having dinner, both of them sat together and drank alcohol. During this, Santosh taunted Nohar and said, ‘Send some of your earnings home too’. Nohar did not like this. After this, abuse and scuffle started between the two. At the same time, Nohar strangled Santosh and hit his head with a shovel several times, leaving him bleeding, due to which he died on the spot. Police have arrested accused Nohar in the case.

Married woman gangraped in the capital

In Gudhiyari area, a 22-year-old married woman was gangraped by her relative and his friend. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot. The accused have been identified as Bijju Markam and Bihari. The police have registered a case and both the accused are being searched.

Chaos after double murder

On Monday November 18, 2024 evening, a gang war broke out between two groups near the Amasivni liquor shop in the Vidhansabha police station area. According to the information, Harish Sahu and his associates attacked Rohit Sagar with knives and sticks. Rohit Sagar died in this attack. As soon as the news of his murder spread, the people of Rohit gang also got enraged. The accused reached Harish Sahu’s house in large numbers and dragged him out of the house and kidnapped him and took him to Khalbara, about three and a half kilometer away. Where the accused tied Harish to a chair and tortured him. During this, he was also attacked with a knife, due to which Harish also died on the spot. Taking action in this case, the police have arrested 11 people. The police is engaged in further action in the case.
