The captivating performances of music and dance enthralled the audience at Pragati College

“Jazz 2026,” a singing and dance program, was organised at Pragati College on February 5th and 6th, 2026. The program began with prayers to Goddess Saraswati.

At the start of the program, Principal Dr. Soumya Nayyar welcomed the guests and extended her best wishes to the students. In her address, she said that life is a musical expression of God, and sweetness in life is possible only through music.

On this occasion, the students showcased their artistic talent through musical and dance performances.

The music competition began with Lakshika Yadav, upholding the tradition of Chhattisgarh, presenting the Chhattisgarhi song “Arpa Pairi Ke Dhar,” and Menka singing the Chhattisgarhi song “Mor Raja Roye.” Amit Patel presented a Chhattisgarhi song accompanied by the dholak. Raj Verma and Samyata Gorkhede performed “Chahun Main Ya Na,” Aishwarya and Nisha sang “Shri Ram Chandra,” Aishwarya Yadu sang “Shri Krishna Govind,” Gaurav Verma performed a rap song, Kunal Patel played “Gulabi Aankhen” on the piano, and Konika sang “Chhote Se Shyam Kanhaiya.” Nisha Sahu sang “Tum Utho Shringar Karo,” and Ghanendra Patel gave a captivating performance playing the dhol.

In the next segment of the program, Vimalkant and his group mesmerised everyone with their tabla performance of “Shiv Kailash Ke Vasi,” Dhanraj and his group performed “Holi Phag,” Rohan Bagh performed the Bastariya “Bailadila,” Pooja sang “Radha Krishna Man Mein,” and Dharmendra and his group gave a spectacular performance of the song “Aarambh Hai Prachand.”

On this occasion, the judges, Jitendra Vishwakarma and Dr. Neetu Sahu, both experts in music, were present.

A dance program was organised today in the auditorium of Pragati College. Shyamali Bopche performed a spectacular dance to “Mohe Rang De Lal,” and Mannu Verma and Group presented a brilliant performance to “Chhattisgarhi Beats.” Pushkar Soni and Group captivated everyone with their amazing performance of the Shiva Tandava.

Anushree Parmale performed to a “Marathi song,” and Vedansi Patel energised the audience with a remix dance. The ODC Group performed a dance to the “Odissi” song, and Shreya Kashyap danced to “Jiya Jale Jo Jale.”

K. Soumya performed a classical dance to “Mohe Rang Do Lal,” and Ankanksha Sharma danced to the song “Adharam Madhuram.” M. Kalyani performed a solo song, and the Vansh Group’s performance to “Bijli Girane Main Hoon Aayi Hawa-Hawai” made all the students dance along. Rakhi Sahu mesmerised everyone with her belly dance. Shailesh Yadav danced to the song “Kali Mahakali.” Dances were also performed to Punjabi, South Indian, and Bhojpuri songs, captivating the audience.

Ekta Pansari and Ashish Thakur were present as judges for this program. They made today’s program even more interesting and exciting with their dance expertise.

The Head of the Education Department, Dr. K. N. Gajpal, the Head of the Computer Department, Mannu Rawani, the Head of the Commerce and Management Department, Dr. Amit Thakur, the Head of the Journalism Department, Dr. Praveen Kumar Yadav, Administrator Jyoti Thakur, and the in-charge professors and students played a commendable role in making the program a grand success.
