Bastar is now being recognised not by fear but by digital transformation: Vishnu Deo Sai

New Delhi: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday June 6, 2025 . During the meeting Sai apprised PM Modi about opeace peace and order in Bastar, various schemes and achievements. Besides , the Prime Minister was informed about the Sushasan Tihar organised recently in Chhattisgarh.

During his stay in Delhi, the Chief Minister also met Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah at his residence. Where other major issues including development of the state, Naxal operation were discussed.

The Chief Minister said that now the face of Bastar is changing, which was once known for guns and landmines Mafia ,currently mobile towers are being installed there, which have become not just a means of communication but a symbol of development and trust.

Chief Minister Sai said that 64 new forward security camps have been established by the government in the last one and a half years. The presence of police has not only created a sense of security in the local villagers , around these security posts, but the network has also reached these areas now. The government has so far commissioned a total of 671 mobile towers, out of which 4G service is available in 365 towers. This is not just a technological change, but it is also an indication that the communication revolution has now begun in the tribal areas of the State

The Chief Minister said that now not only mobile towers are being installed in Bastar, but these towers are evidence of the fact that the children and youth there are also now connecting to the digital world. Earlier, where children had to go to the city for studies or job preparation, now they are able to do the same work online in their village through mobile network. Now the youth of Bastar is also creating their own world with smartphones.

Chief Minister Sai said that basic facilities like electricity, water, health and education are now reaching the villages settled around the security camps. Under the Niyada Nellnar Yojana, 18 community services and 25 types of government schemes are being implemented simultaneously in 146 villages identified.

The Chief Minister informed that hundreds of Samadhan camps have been organised so far under Sushasan Tihar, where MPs and MLAs visited villages to resolve public grievances. In these camps, the villagers were given the benefits of schemes like ration card, Aadhaar, pension, health test, school admission, Ayushman card, Pradhan Mantri Awas, Ujjwala gas on a single platform.

Chief Minister Sai gave detailed information about the schemes and innovations being done for water conservation in Chhattisgarh. He informed that the state government is working in mission mode to deal with the water crisis, and effective efforts are being made at every level, from public participation to technical measures.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai further briefed Prime Minister that the number of rainy days in Chhattisgarh has now reduced – earlier where it used to rain for about 100 days, now it rains only for 65 days. Under the technology, new methods of conserving water are being adopted in every village. Where earlier water used to flow away after rain, now efforts are being made to stop and store it. In this work, modern technology like GIS mapping and a mobile app named ‘Jaldoot’ are being used, which shows how much water is needed where.

The most important thing is that women are playing a big role in this campaign. Women’s groups are coming forward to clean the ponds, increase their depth, and revive old water sources. This partnership is eliminating the water shortage in villages and people are getting clean and adequate water in their area.

Chief Minister Sai also informed the Prime Minister about the Nalanda campus, which is the country’s first 24×7 hybrid public library. Built at a cost of Rs 18 crore, this facility has an e-library, youth tower, health zone and solar energy based system. So far, more than 11,000 students have benefited, out of which more than 300 students have succeeded in UPSC and CG PSC. Along with this, the Chief Minister also gave information about the ‘Prayas’ model, in which underprivileged and tribal children are prepared for exams like IIT, NEET, CLAT. So far, 1508 students have got admission in selected national institutions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modiappreciated admired the efforts of Chief Minister Sai and assured full cooperation of the Central Government in the development of Chhattisgarh.
