UNSC: Pakistan went to UNSC to ask for help, got trapped, Security Council lashed out at it, faced a lot of criticism

Pakistan has also suffered a setback in the United Nations Security Council. In fact, in the UNSC meeting held behind closed doors on Monday May 5 , 2025 Pakistan thought that it would put pressure on India by gathering international support, but Pakistan got trapped in the UNSC and the members reprimanded it fiercely.

Every trick of Pakistan against India is backfiring on it. The latest case is of the meeting of the United Nations Security Council, where Pakistan had gone to ask for help, but the Security Council instead reprimanded Pakistan. The members of the United Nations Security Council asked Pakistan tough questions and asked it to fix accountability for the Pahalgam terror attack.

UNSC asked questions on the role of Lashkar-e-Taiba in the Pahalgam attack

In the meeting of the UNSC, the members asked Pakistan whether Lashkar-e-Taiba had a hand in the Pahalgam terror attack or not. Actually, Pakistan is trying to show that India wants to attack it under the guise of the Pahalgam terror attack. However, the Security Council rejected this argument of Pakistan and instead asked questions on the role of Lashkar-e-Taiba in the attack.

In the meeting of the United Nations Council, the Pahalgam terror attack was strongly condemned and a demand was also made to fix accountability for it. Some members especially raised questions on the fact that tourists in Pahalgam were targeted after asking their religion. This too was strongly condemned by the members.

Pakistan was reprimanded for taking provocative action

Pakistan has recently tested ballistic missiles. Many members of the Security Council expressed their displeasure over this too and called it a provocative action by Pakistan. Pakistan’s attempt was to internationalise the issue by raising it in the Security Council and put pressure on India not to take military action, but its attempt was in vain and the Security Council itself advised Pakistan to resolve the issue bilaterally with India.

Pakistan had conspired to carry out its agenda in India’s absence

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan is currently a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. India is currently not a part of the Security Council. In such a situation, Pakistan thought that it would be successful in pushing its agenda in the Security Council in the absence of India because India is not a part of the UNSC to respond to its allegations, but this is an example of India’s growing diplomatic importance that Pakistan’s agenda did not work even in India’s absence and the rest of the member countries gheraod Pakistan.
