Uttarakhand Civic Elections: Municipal elections will be held in the state on January 23, code of conduct implemented

Municipal elections in Uttarakhand will be held on January 23. The code of conduct has been implemented. Nominations will be held from 27 to 30 December. While the counting of votes will take place on January 25.

Elections will be held in 100 municipal bodies of Uttarakhand on January 23. After consent from the government on Monday December 23, 2024 the State Election Commission issued the notification for municipal elections. With this, the code of conduct has come into force in the municipal bodies of the state.

On Monday December 23,2024 State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar issued the notification in a press conference at the commission office. He said that there are 107 municipal bodies in the state, out of which administrative system is in place in three bodies (Badrinath, Gangotri, Kedarnath). Two municipal bodies Pati (Champawat) and Gadhineghi (Udham Singh Nagar) have been newly formed, whose delimitation is not available, due to which elections will not be held.

The delimitation of two municipal bodies Kichha (Udham Singh Nagar) and Narendra Nagar (Tehri) has also not been made available to the commission. Therefore, elections will not be held in seven municipal bodies. These elections are being held in 100 bodies (11 municipal corporations, 43 municipalities, 46 nagar panchayats). Election schedule

Nomination date: 27 to 30 December 2024

Nomination scrutiny: 31 December 2024 to 01 January 2025

Withdrawal of nomination: 02 January (10 am to 4 pm)

Election symbol allocation: 03 January (10 am to 3 pm)

Voting: 23 January 2025 (8 am to 5 pm)

Counting of votes: 25 January (from 8 am)


More than 30 lakh voters

Total voters: 30,63,143

Male voters: 15,79,789

Female voters: 14,82,809

Other voters: 545

In these municipal corporations Elections

Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Roorkee, Kotdwar, Srinagar, Rudrapur, Kashipur, Haldwani, Pithoragarh and Almora.
