Raipur: “ World Mental Health Awareness Day Program” was organised in Pragati College, Chaubey Colony Raipur On Thursday October 17 . In view of World Mental Health Day in collaboration with Raipur District Hospital . The psychologist Raipur District Hospital Leena Singh was the chief guest at the event and students of Education, Journalism & Mass Communication departments of Pragati College took keen participation in the program

The Chief Guest Leena Singh spoke on different issues on Mental Health and highlighted many things regarding the pertinent, subject including the laws and rights of people suffering from mental health issues. Leena Singh opined by telling the reason for celebrating World Mental Health Day, in which she asked some questions to the students and also suggested remedies of mental conditions. Leena Singh said that we should help such people who are mentally ill , we should inspire them to that they are not different from us . We should play the role of a “Gate Keeper” It means to take care of the mentally ill and to be alert about them . Along with this, some methods of staying happy like chicken dance, games and other activities for expanding mental intellectual capacity were shared with the students.
The program was inaugurated by lighting a lamp in front of Maa Saraswati. At the beginning of the program by the Principal of the college, Dr. Saumya Nayyar . Dr. Nayyar while addressing the students said that if we remain mentally healthy, then only we will remain physically healthy as well . In today’s time, more people are suffering from mental stress. Many types of mental disorders are caused due to mental stress, to prevent all these disorders, keep yourself away from mental stress and be happy allays .
The program was conducted by Ms. Swaleha Nisha ,faculty education Department . HoD, Education Dr. K N Gjpal presented the Vote of Thanks to the Chief Guest and all the Teachers and students present on the program .
At last a counselling session was conducted for the Students of Pragati College by HoD Journalism & Mass Communication Dr. Praveen Kumar Yadav and Administrator Jyoti Thakur .
Students in the end said that they were Informed about various important things regarding Mental Health and also the various scopes of keeping away from unnecessary stress and thanked the program organisers for organising such a fruitful session.
