An attempt to break Shivling ( Lingam ) and Trishool (trident- a three-pronged spear ) with stone, when people saw , accused started running, police arrested him

Durg: A case of an attempt to break a Shivling and its trident has come to light in Ward -1 under Jamul Nagar Municipality area of ​​the district. The police have arrested the accused. A case will be registered and he will be sent to judicial custody, police said .

In Ward No. 1 of Jamul, a youth tried to break the Shivling and trident, meanwhile the local people of Jamul reached Jamul police station and lodged a case, eyewitnesses told that on Wednesday November 6, 2024 night when they were going towards ACC Chowk, they saw that Murtaza was climbing the platform and he was trying to break the Shivling with a stone. As soon as he was seen, he started running. Later people tried to catch him, but he was very drunk. After this, members of Chhattisgarh Bajrang Dal and residents of Jamul went to Jamul police station and complained about this incident. The police team reached the spot and arrested the accused and brought him to the police station for questioning.

However , Jamul police station in-charge Kapil Dev Pandey said that the incident took place in Batukeshwar Mahadev temple located near Jamul Adani ACC Chowk Bhilai. Where an attempt was made to break Nandi and Shivji’s trident installed on a platform outside temple here. The accused is a youth named Murtaza Ali, who is a resident of the same locality, who tried to break the Shivling and trident.
