*Proposal received to establish a Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies campus at EduCity, Nava Raipur
*State government’s efforts to provide quality higher education to youth continue to yield significant results
Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met NMIMS representative Jagdish V. Parikh at Mahanadi Bhawan on December 3. The meeting featured an in-depth discussion on the state’s recent initiatives in higher education and emerging opportunities in the sector.
Parikh informed the Chief Minister about the institution’s proposal to set up its campus in EduCity, Nava Raipur, and shared details about NMIMS’ academic programmes and activities. He also informed the Chief Minister about his earlier meeting with Housing & Environment Minister O.P. Choudhary, who assured the departmental support for the project.
The Chief Minister said the state government is developing EduCity with the commitment to “provide quality higher education to every youth in Chhattisgarh”. He added that EduCity will provide students with access to top national institutions without requiring them to leave the state. He noted that the arrival of a prestigious institute like NMIMS will enable students to receive “high-quality education in management and engineering”. The presence of national and international institutions in EduCity, he said, will boost youth skill development and create better employment opportunities.
It is noteworthy that the state government is developing EduCity in Nava Raipur as a premier educational hub. The project includes plans for a multidisciplinary university, research centres, incubation hubs, a digital library, science and innovation centres, and advanced laboratories. These facilities will provide students with access to education, research, and start-up opportunities of national and global standards.
Nava Raipur already have esteemed institutions such as IIIT, IIM, and the National Law University. With the development of EduCity, a robust and modern academic ecosystem is anticipated to emerge.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rahul Bhagat, and CEO of the Nava Raipur Development Authority, Chandan Kumar, along with senior officials, were present.
