It is worth mentioning that the High Court had banned the recruitment to different posts of constable cadre 2023-24. This ban was imposed by the single bench of Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey after hearing the petition of petitioner Bedaram Tandon. According to the petition filed by petitioner Bedaram Tandon, this is the whole matter of constable cadre 2023-24 recruitment process. In this, the petitioner’s son had applied for Constable GD (General Duty) recruitment to be held in Rajnandgaon. 143 posts were released under this category in the district. But after the advertisement was released and the form was filled, the DG Police wrote a letter to the Secretary regarding giving relaxation to the children of serving/ex-servicemen employees in the police department in this recruitment process.
In this letter, it was suggested that the parameters of the recruitment process can be relaxed under Recruitment Rules 2007 Clause 9(5). Which included a total of 9 points like chest width and height during the physical test. The Under Secretary also accepted this suggestion. Hurt by this, the petitioner filed a petition in the High Court. In this, the petitioner’s lawyer told the court that giving relaxation only to the employees of his department is clearly discrimination against common citizens. Therefore, this recruitment process should be stopped. After hearing the arguments presented by the lawyer in the entire matter, the court had put a stay on the recruitment to various posts of constable cadre 2023-24.
