Raipur: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Dayal Das Baghel today reviewed the progress of departmental work by holding a marathon meeting of departmental officers for the second day in the hall of Naveen Vishram Grih in Nava Raipur. Baghel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, our government is working with priority for the development and prosperity of farmers, poor and needy.
He said that if farmers are prosperous then the country will be prosperous. Therefore, it is our responsibility to buy every grain of their produce while providing convenience to the farmers. We should work with sensitivity in the interest of farmers and provide them necessary facilities. On this occasion, he directed to make the matching work of paddy purchased last year mandatory by September 30 of the current month. He directed the food officers and inspectors to keep an eye on 10 ration shops every month and take strong action if any irregularities are found.
Food Minister Baghel said that farmers are our food providers. To empower the farmers economically, our government is buying paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per acre at 21 quintals as per its promise. Preparations have been started by the state government for buying paddy at the support price in the upcoming Kharif season as well. He has asked the department officials to start all the necessary arrangements for paddy procurement. He said that make the arrangements for gunny bags for paddy procurement at the support price.
Instructions have been given to repair the internet connection, computers and measuring equipment at the paddy procurement centres. Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel said that during the purchase of paddy at the support price, there should not be any complaint from the farmers that more paddy is not being purchased from them. Therefore, the measuring equipment at the paddy procurement centres should be repaired. Taking seriously the complaints regarding the distribution of ration cards, he expressed displeasure at the officials. He said in stern words that the ration cards which have not been renewed, ensure that the process of proper verification of those ration cards is completed soon.
