Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday to welcome Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The Emir of Qatar is on a state visit to India on 17 and 18 February. During this time, he will discuss various aspects of bilateral relations with PM Modi. The Ministry of External Affairs had informed about his visit to India.

The MEA said, ‘His visit will add further impetus to our growing multifaceted partnership.’ The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that he will be accompanied by a high-level delegation to India, which will include ministers, senior officials and a business delegation.
Qatar’s Emir on a two-day visit to India
The ministry said in a statement, ‘At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani will visit India on a state visit on 17-18 February 2025.’ This will be the second state visit of the Emir of Qatar to India. Earlier, he visited India in March 2015.
Formal welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan
According to the information given by the Ministry of External Affairs, ‘The Emir of Qatar will be formally welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 18 February 2025. During his visit, the Emir of Qatar will hold discussions with President Draupadi Murmu, who will also host a banquet in his honor. The Emir will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various aspects of bilateral relations.
India-Qatar relations are very old
India and Qatar have deep historical ties of friendship, trust and mutual respect. The Ministry of External Affairs said that in recent years, relations between the two countries have continuously strengthened, including trade, investment, energy, technology, culture and people-to-people relations.
