PM Narendra Modi left for Ukraine tour amidst the war, will there be a discussion on ending the war?

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for a two-day visit to Poland today. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in the last 45 years. Earlier, Morarji Desai had gone there in 1979. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a statement before starting his visit to Poland and Ukraine. PM Modi has said, “I am leaving on an official visit to Poland and Ukraine. This visit of mine is taking place on the occasion of completion of 70 years of diplomatic relations with Poland. Poland is our economic partner in Central Europe.”

Regarding the Ukraine visit, the PM said that he is looking forward to sharing his views with President Zelenskyy on a peaceful solution to the Ukraine conflict. According to the Indian Foreign Ministry, PM Modi will be on an official visit to Poland from 21-23 August. PM Modi will leave for Ukraine on August 23 .

This visit is taking place at a time when 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries are also being completed. First of all, PM Modi will be welcomed in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. After this, he will meet Polish President Andrzej Sebastian Duda and then attend bilateral talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The Prime Minister will also meet the Indian community in Poland. There are 25 thousand people of the Indian community living in Poland. There are about 5 thousand students in it. PM Modi can also visit the memorials of the Maharajas of Jamnagar and Kolhapur. This is a sign of historical relations between India and Poland. Maharaja Digvijay Singhji gave shelter to thousands of Polish refugees during the Second World War.
