A B.Com second year student living in Motiwala area of Pardi taluka of Valsad was returning home from tuition on November 14. In a deserted area, the accused dragged her into the bushes and strangled her to death after raping her. Not only this, this psycho killer had left from there after raping and killing the student. After some time, he returned to the spot again and also raped the dead body of the student. After this incident in Pardi taluka area, the police became active. The body of the student was found in the bushes near the railway track and a T-shirt and bag were recovered from there. The accused was identified based on these clues.
Photos sent to railway stations
After this important clue, the police sent the pictures of the accused to all the railway stations of Gujarat. The investigation team scanned more than 2,000 CCTV footage. During this, it was found that the accused was earlier caught in a theft case and was kept in Lajpore jail in Surat. A police team reached Rohtak to gather information about the accused. There it was found that the criminal record of the accused Rahul had become a cause of trouble for his family. The family had thrown him out of the house due to his constant involvement in theft incidents. The accused’s father has also passed away now and there were no signs of him returning to Haryana.
Identification and arrest of the accused
Due to the extensive investigation of the police and close scrutiny of the footage, the accused was arrested from Vapi railway station on Sunday November 24 , 2024 The arrest was the result of a joint operation by Gujarat Police and officials from other states.
