The approximately 11.70-km stretch will be strengthened and construction work will include bridges and culverts, providing safer and more convenient movement for people living in the surrounding rural areas.
The approval has been granted under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai as part of the State Government’s continuing focus on strengthening basic road infrastructure.
The improved route is expected to particularly benefit villagers, farmers, students and other regular commuters. Better road conditions will also facilitate transportation of agricultural produce and improve connectivity between rural settlements, major markets and other important destinations.
Besides making daily travel easier, the project is expected to support commercial activity and strengthen social and economic linkages across the area.
The release also credited Janjgir-Champa district in-charge and Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary for his guidance and efforts towards accelerating road and infrastructure development in the region.
The State Government, under Chief Minister Sai and with the Public Works Department headed by Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, has been focusing on roads, bridges and culverts as essential components of infrastructure development.
With the Shivrinayaran–Khairtal project receiving government approval, the long-pending local demand moves towards implementation, while the strengthened road is expected to provide more reliable connectivity across the adjoining rural belt.
