Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has given permission to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to prosecute former CM Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case today on Saturday December 21 , 2024 . On December 5, the Enforcement Directorate had sought permission to prosecute Arvind Kejriwal.
The High Court will hear Kejriwal’s petition on January 30
The Delhi High Court will hear Arvind Kejriwal’s petition against the order to take cogniswance of the ED chargesheet in the Delhi Excise Policy case on January 30, 2025. Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri was informed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) counsel that Additional Solicitor General SV Raju was scheduled to make submissions on Friday, but he could not reach.
The court had initially listed the case for February 19, 2025 on the request of Kejriwal’s lawyer. After this, it has been posted on January 30. Kejriwal’s counsel opposed the ED’s request for adjournment, saying, “Here is a person whose elections are coming up in January and he is waiting endlessly for the other side to argue the case.” The court has also fixed January 30, 2025 for hearing on a similar plea of AAP leader Manish Sisodia.
