IND vs AUS Melbourne Test: No-ball and dropped catch… 10th wicket becomes a headache, does the Melbourne Test slip out of India’s hands?

IND vs AUS Melbourne Test: After winning the toss in the match, Australia decided to bat first and scored a big score of 474 runs. After this, the Indian team scored 369 runs in the first innings. In this way, the Kangaroo team got a lead of 105 runs in the first innings. After this, by the end of the fourth day’s play, Australia scored 228 runs for 9 wickets.
India vs Australia Melbourne Test: The fourth match of the 5-match Test series under the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is being played in Melbourne between the Indian team and Australia. A very exciting game was seen on the fourth day of the match (29 December). The Indian team had a tight grip on Australia from the beginning in the second innings.
But by the end of the game, Australia turned the tables by making a strong partnership for the last wicket. By the end of the fourth day’s play, host Australia has scored 228 runs after losing 9 wickets. Whereas in the first innings it had got a lead of 105 runs.
In this way, Australia has taken a total lead of 333 runs in the second innings. While the last wicket is still left. At one time, the Indian team had a strong hold on the match by taking the 8th wicket at 173 runs. At that time Australia had a lead of only 278 runs.


Siraj’s life-saving to Lyon proved costly

After this, the mistakes of catch drop and no-ball left the Indian team far behind. There was a golden opportunity to wrap up Australia at a score of 174, but a catch drop snatched it away as well. Actually, the 66th over of the innings was bowled by Mohammad Siraj.

On its very first ball, Siraj bowled a length ball on the outside off. On this, the ball was seen going straight in the air after taking the edge of Nathan Lyon’s bat. Where Siraj had a chance to catch it. He also tried to catch it, but he could not catch it. This life-saving proved dangerous for the Indian team.

Lyon was playing after scoring 5 runs. But by the end of the fourth day’s play, he scored 41 runs. While his partner Scott Boult remained unbeaten after scoring 10 runs. There was an unbeaten partnership of 55 runs in 110 balls for the 10th wicket between the two. If Siraj had taken the catch, this partnership would not have happened.

Bumrah made a big blunder in the last over

Jasprit Bumrah bowled the last over of the game on the fourth day. Nathan Lyon was caught out on the fourth ball of this 82nd over. The ball took the edge of his bat and went into the hands of KL Rahul standing in the slip. Rahul also caught it with great difficulty.

But here Bumrah made a big mistake. Actually, it was declared a foot no-ball. Due to this, Rahul’s catch also went in vain and Lyon got a second life. However, the game of the fourth day…

ended here. But it remains to be seen how much this catch proves to be costly on the last day
