Delhi: PM Modi laid the foundation of Ayurveda Institute in Delhi, said- the world will soon adopt ‘Heal in India’

PM Modi said that the AYUSH system has been expanded to more than 100 countries in the last decade. PM Modi also highlighted that the first World Health Organization institute related to traditional medicine is being set up in India.

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday January 5 , 2025 said India has immense potential to become the health and wellness capital of the world and the day is not far when the world will adopt ‘Heal in India’ along with ‘Make in India’. Modi made the remarks while laying the foundation stone of a new Central Ayurveda Research Institute building in Rohini and termed it the next big leap for Ayurveda. Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav, along with other dignitaries, were present at the ceremony.

The new facility, spread over 2.92 acres with an investment of Rs 187 crore, will have a 100-bed hospital dedicated to advancing Ayurveda research and providing healthcare services to the people, an official statement said. PM Modi said the government is promoting traditional Indian systems of medicine like AYUSH and Ayurveda.

He said the AYUSH system has been expanded to more than 100 countries in the last decade. PM Modi also highlighted that the first World Health Organisation (WHO) institute related to traditional medicine is being set up in India. Stating that he had inaugurated the second phase of the All India Institute of Ayurveda a few weeks ago, PM Modi said that today the foundation stone of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute has been laid, for which he congratulated the people of Delhi.

PM Modi said that a special AYUSH visa facility has been introduced to facilitate foreign nationals to receive AYUSH treatment in India and hundreds of foreign nationals have benefited from this facility in a short span of time. Speaking at the event, Jadhav thanked the Prime Minister for his leadership, saying, “This facility will advance research and quality healthcare, making a lasting impact on millions of people across the country.”
