The Muslim community will welcome the devotees on Vasant Panchami too. The Muslim community had opened the doors of their homes for the devotees on Mauni Amavasya too. Now the doors of mosques and Imambaras will remain open for the devotees on Vasant Panchami.
On the occasion of the biggest bathing festival of Maha Kumbh, Mauni Amavasya, an example of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb was seen in the city. When the roads leading to the railway station were closed, the Muslim community of the old city opened the doors of their homes for the devotees.
During this time, Jama Masjid located at Chowk also became a shelter for dozens of people. Langar was served throughout the night in the Muslim dominated area. On the other hand, blankets were also distributed to protect from the cold. Seeing the crowd on Amavasya, now the people of the Muslim community have started preparations for Vasant Panchami as well.
On Mauni Amavasya, thousands of devotees stayed at Yadgare Hussaini Inter College located at Chowk for three days. Here the people of the Muslim community gave the message of brotherhood by serving and helping the devotees. Now arrangements are being made for the devotees on Vasant Panchami in the school premises as well.
College manager Gauhar Kazmi said that the arrangement for accommodation and food will be in the school premises itself. Bakery businessman Rashid Sagir opened Shahraara Bagh Mosque for devotees to stay in view of the crowd on Mauni Amavasya. He had then distributed sheets and blankets.
He had opened his restaurant for women to stay. Rashid said that full preparations are also in place for Vasant Panchami. Haseeb Ahmed had distributed langar for devotees in the Chowk itself. He said that arrangements will be made for devotees to stay on Vasant Panchami. Youth leader Adeel Hamza had also provided his vehicles to the devotees walking on foot.
Adeel says that religion does not teach us to keep enmity among ourselves, we are Hindi and our country is Hindustan. Zaid, Areeb, Ajay Tripathi, Suhail, Ahad, Azam also contributed to this free service.
Mansoor Usmani, Aftab Ahmed and Afsha Shafiq had made arrangements for devotees to stay in Bhandara and Mumtaz Mahal near Dufferin Hospital on Amavasya. He says that we are ready for Vasant Panchami as well. Naseema Begum, a handicapped person from Bahadurganj who was honoured by the Chief Minister, said that she will provide free tea and snacks to the devotees.
The businessman had distributed two truckloads of bottled water on Mauni Amavasya
Firecracker businessman Mohammad Qadir and members of his organisation had distributed Mahaprasad on Mauni Amavasya. During this, two truckloads of bottled water were also made available to the devotees. He will also organise a one-day bhandaara for the devotees on Vasant Panchami.
