Here BJP mayor candidate Meenal Chaubey has registered the biggest victory. She defeated Congress candidate Deepti Dubey by 153290 votes. A total of 509146 votes were cast in the mayor election in Raipur. Out of this, BJP candidate Meenal Chaubey got 315835 votes and Congress candidate Deepti Dubey got 162545 votes.

BJP-Congress leaders, angry at not getting tickets in the elections in Bemetara district, had formed their own party at the local level in Nagar Panchayat Devkar of Bemetara district, which was named Dukhi Atma Party (DAP).
