Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s reaction has come out regarding the Ahmedabad plane crash. There were 242 people on board this plane including the cabin crew.

Ahmedabad Plane Crash: An Air India plane going from Ahmedabad to London crashed after take-off on Thursday June 12, 2025 afternoon. At the time of the accident, there were 242 people on board the plane, including two pilots and 10 cabin crew. After the plane crash, many videos have also surfaced, which are telling the painful scene. Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s reaction has come to the fore regarding this accident.

Pakistan’s first reaction on Ahmedabad plane crash

Bilawal Bhutto said that referring to the Air India accident, he was saddened to hear the news of this tragic incident. He posted on X and said, “I express my deepest condolences to the people of India.”

According to Air Traffic Control (ATC), Air India flight AI-171 took off from runway 23 of Ahmedabad airport at 1:39 pm Indian time. Immediately after taking off from runway 23, the plane fell to the ground outside the airport boundary and soon after that black smoke was seen rising in the sky from the spot.

There were 242 people on board the plane

The plane crashed in Meghnagar IGP complex in Ahmedabad. At the time of the accident, there were 242 people on board the plane, including 12 members of the cabin crew. The plane was being piloted by Captain Sumit Sabharwal, who was accompanied by First Officer Clive Kunder. Captain Sumit Sabharwal is an LTC and has 8,200 hours of flying experience, while the co-pilot had 1,100 hours of flying experience. There were 169 Indians, 53 British, 1 Canadian and 7 Portuguese citizens on board the plane.

PM Modi expressed grief over the plane crash

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the plane crash in Ahmedabad as heart-wrenching and said that we are shocked and saddened by it. He said, “We are shocked and saddened by the tragedy in Ahmedabad. It is heart-wrenching which cannot be expressed in words. I am in touch with ministers and officials who are working to help those affected.”

The scene of the crash is horrific – Keir Starmer

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed grief over the crash of the Air India plane going to London. Starmer said in a statement, “The scene of the plane coming to London with many British citizens crashing in the Indian city of Ahmedabad is horrific. I am being informed moment by moment and my condolences are with the passengers and their families in this very sad time.”
