Mumbai: Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said in an interview that she is not going to invite the Gandhi family to the screening of the upcoming film ‘Emergency’. The actress said that they have a lot of bitterness towards me. Kangana starring “Emergency” is a political action thriller film based on the biography of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
The story of the film is related to India’s Emergency, which was for 21 months from 1975 to 1977. At that time, the late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had declared ’emergency’ across the country citing internal and external threats in the country.
When Kangana was questioned about this, she answered bluntly and said-
Question: “Emergency” is about Indira Gandhi, so are you planning to invite the Gandhi family for the screening of the film?
Answer: I would love to do so. But I am sure that they will not accept my invitation, because they have a lot of bitterness towards me. I have already received several notices from the Supreme Court regarding my comments on their statements .
I am also an MP. I should also have the right to express my views on their sayings , but they have objections to this as well.
Question: Do you hope that the Gandhi family will watch the film and is she sure that they will say good things about it?
Answer: I hope that even if they do not come to my screening, they will watch the film and evaluate it very objectively, they will like the film and I am sure that if they want, they will have good words to say.
