PM Modi made this important statement amid the CBI investigation into a rape case in Kolkata. Chief Justice of the country DVI Chandrachud and other senior judges of the Supreme Court were also present on this occasion.

The Supreme Court had taken suo motu cognizance of the matter and asked questions to the West Bengal government. Prime Minister Modi said that atrocities against women and children are a matter of serious concern for the society. He said that strict laws have been made for the safety of women, but they need to be implemented more actively.
