Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority( APEDA) Regional Office to be Open in Raipur

A Major Boost to Agricultural Exports through the Efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai – State to Become an Export Hub

Raipur: Chhattisgarh has received a major gift in the field of agricultural and processed food exports. Thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the proactive initiative of the Department of Industries, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has approved the establishment of a regional office of APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) in Raipur.

With the opening of this regional office, farmers, producers, and exporters of Chhattisgarh will now have access to numerous benefits in one place. They will no longer need to visit offices in other states for services such as training, certification, packaging, standardization, and export-related processes.

Global-Quality Facilities Now Available Locally

With the APEDA office now in the state, services like phytosanitary certification, quality certification, lab testing, and other export-related procedures can be completed locally. This will not only save time but also reduce costs for farmers and exporters.

Branding and Global Recognition for Chhattisgarh’s Products

The APEDA office will facilitate easier export of fruits, vegetables, rice, GI-tagged products, millets, and other agricultural produce to international markets. This will ensure better prices for products, new markets for traders, and global recognition for the state.

Growth in Farmers’ Income and Knowledge

Through exports, farmers will receive better prices for their produce, thereby increasing their income. They will also gain access to knowledge and training in modern technologies, quality control, advanced packaging, and international marketing—right at the local level.

Boost to Export Infrastructure

APEDA not only helps with certification and brand promotion but also supports the creation and maintenance of export infrastructure. This will lead to the development of facilities like food processing units, cold storage, and pack houses in the state, giving new momentum to agri-business.

Access to Special Schemes and Subsidies

Farmers, startups, and MSMEs in Chhattisgarh will now easily benefit from APEDA’s export promotion schemes, skill development initiatives, and subsidies.

Chief Minister Sai expressed happiness over this historic development, stating that this office will serve as a strong bridge to connect Chhattisgarh’s farmers and producers to the global market. It will not only boost agricultural exports but also be a decisive step toward the state’s economic prosperity. This achievement will make Chhattisgarh a leading state in the ‘Vocal for Local to Global’ movement and open new doors for export of its rich agricultural products.
