Washington: The United States is offering up to $20 million for information about Iran’s nuclear programme, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Friday, 6 November. The offer, issued through the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme, also provides for “possible relocation” for people who come forward.
US Seeks Details on Nuclear Sites, Equipment and Scientists
The State Department is seeking information on facilities and equipment used in Iran’s nuclear programme and on people associated with it, including members of the scientific community. The notice also asks for tips on the movement of equipment or personnel. CENTCOM shared the offer on X and directed potential sources to the Rewards for Justice programme to submit information.
The State Department’s notice cites the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 2025 finding that Iran had enriched uranium to 60 per cent purity. It also points to gaps in the agency’s ability to track Iran’s production and inventory of key equipment, including centrifuges used to enrich uranium.
Qatar Conveys US Proposals to Tehran
The reward was publicised as Qatar continued to mediate efforts to end the war. Iran was reported to be reviewing US proposals conveyed by Qatar. Trump said Tehran “wants to make a deal very badly”.
Trump also told reporters on Friday that US forces had carried out a limited strike targeting an Iranian air defence system. Iranian state media reported two explosions in the Suza area of Qeshm Island, in the Strait of Hormuz.
