The pledge of a Naxal-free Chhattisgarh is rapidly becoming a reality: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

10 Maoist cadres surrender in Sukma, a new beginning of rehabilitation

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday December 12 , 2025 described the surrender of 10 Maoist cadres associated with various Naxalite organisations, including the Darbha Division Committee, in Sukma district under the “Puna Margem – Rehabilitation through Rehabilitation” program as a historic and positive symbol of change. It is noteworthy that these include six female Maoists, on whom a total reward of ₹33 lakh was announced.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the pledge of a Naxal-free Chhattisgarh is no longer just a goal, but is rapidly becoming a reality. He said that under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the fight against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh is now at a decisive turning point.

Chief Minister Sai stated that this surrender is proof that the ideology of violence, fear, and deviance is weakening in Bastar, while the path of development, trust, and dialogue is gaining strength.

Chief Minister Sai stated that neither the present nor the future is secure on the path of violence. The Chhattisgarh government’s special rehabilitation policy provides solid guarantees of respect, security, livelihood, and social reintegration to those who surrender. By returning to the mainstream, these individuals can begin a new life with their families, a stable, secure, and dignified life.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai clarified that the government’s goal is clear: to make Chhattisgarh completely Naxal-free and to give Bastar a new identity of development, trust, and opportunities.

Welcoming the decision of the surrendered cadres, Chief Minister Sai also appealed to other misguided youth to abandon the path of violence and join the mainstream of democratic system and development.

He said that with the coordinated efforts of the double engine government, strong action by the security forces, expansion of development schemes and rehabilitation based humanitarian approach – all three together are writing a new story of change in Bastar.
