Before the Haryana Assembly Election 2024, the internal strife in the BJP has started coming out in the open. Before the elections, senior BJP leader Anil Vij has staked claim for the post of Chief Minister. On Sunday September 15, Anil Vij expressed his seniority and demanded the CM post from the party. Anil Vij said that I am the most senior BJP MLA in Haryana. I have contested elections six times. I have never asked for anything from the party, but on the demand of the people, this time I will claim the CM post on the basis of my seniority. Only I can change the picture and fate of Haryana.
Anil Bij said that wherever I have gone, everyone is telling me that you are the most senior, then why did you not become the CM? So, on the demand of the people, this time I will stake my claim to become the Chief Minister on the basis of my seniority. If the government is formed and the party gives me the CM post, then I will change both the fate and the picture of Haryana.
However, Vij said that this decision is in the hands of the ‘high command’. He said that whether to make me the CM or not is in the hands of the high command.
Let us tell you that Anil Vij is the BJP candidate from Ambala Cantt assembly constituency. He was the Home Minister of Haryana during Manohar Lal Khattar’s government and was removed from the cabinet in the recent reshuffle in which Nayab Singh Saini took oath as CM. Earlier, Vij had expressed displeasure over being removed from the cabinet and said that some people have made him an ‘alien’ in his party.
Let us inform you you that Haryana assembly elections will be held on October 5. Whereas, the counting of votes will be held on October 8. Earlier this date was October 1 and 4 but the Election Commission has changed it. Giving the reason behind this, the commission clarified that this decision has been taken to respect both the voting rights and traditions of the Bishnoi community. The Bishnoi community has maintained the centuries-old tradition of participating in the Asoj Amavasya festival. They celebrate the festival in the memory of their guru Jambeshwar on that day.
