Tribal Development to Gain Momentum Through MP Cluster Development Project – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, while addressing a review meeting of the MP Cluster Development Project at the Chief Minister’s residence office on Sunday January 11, 2026 , said that tribal development will gain momentum through the MP Cluster Development Project.

He said that significant initiatives are being taken under the scheme to connect people with self-employment, which will curb migration from tribal areas.

Chief Minister Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous efforts are being made to connect tribal areas with the mainstream of development. Under the MP Cluster Development Project, a development model is being developed by creating clusters of villages, the direct benefit of which is reaching the people.

The objective of the scheme is to empower people economically by developing their skills through the proper utilisation of local resources and encouraging them towards self-employment.

The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh state is known as the rice bowl of India. We have many varieties of rice with great export potential. Along with agriculture, villagers can be economically empowered by connecting them with fisheries, goat rearing, cattle rearing, and pig farming. Our tribal people have been traditionally producing forest products like mahua, tamarind, and chironji, and these are being value-added and linked to the market.

Chief Minister Sai said that special provisions have also been made for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs in the state’s new industrial policy. The public representatives and development partners associated with the MP Cluster Development Project should ensure that the benefits of the new industrial policy also reach the tribal areas. Nodal officers will also be appointed for the better implementation of the MP Cluster Development Project.

In the meeting, V. Satish highlighted the points related to the concept and objectives of the MP Cluster Development Project. He informed that significant work is being done under the scheme to prevent migration by connecting people with self-employment in tribal areas.

Under this scheme, comprehensive development is being carried out in tribal-dominated states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal through the coordinated efforts of the general public, NGOs, public representatives, and the government. Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam said that government officials from various departments should also faithfully fulfill their roles in the development of the villages connected to the cluster.

A better understanding of local needs can lead to skill development and provide people with sustainable employment opportunities.

During the meeting, detailed information was provided on the work undertaken under the scheme in the Lailunga cluster of Raigarh, Parshurampur cluster of Surguja, Bakawand cluster of Bastar, Mata Rajmohini Devi cluster of Balrampur, and Dhanora cluster of Keshkal.

Present on the occasion were Members of Parliament Bhojraj Nag, Chintamani Maharaj, Radheshyam Rathia, Devendra Pratap Singh, MLAs Renuka Singh, Gomati Sai, Prasad Indep, Shri Kapil Sahasrabuddhe, along with senior officials from various departments and other dignitaries.
