Chhattisgarh bandh in Kawardha violence case, Congress opens front

In the Kawardha violence case, Congress has called for a Chhattisgarh bandh. Congress has said that the entire state will be shut on Saturday 21 September.

However, it was decided in the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce meeting that traders will not support the bandh. The Chamber of Commerce said that it is not possible to close the shops in the state on such a short notice. State Congress President Deepak Baij had asked to keep Chhattisgarh closed today, citing the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

What is the Kawardha case after all

In fact, on Sunday, September 15, on suspicion of the murder of Shivprakash alias Kachru Sahu, a resident of Loharidih in Kawardha, the villagers set fire to the house of the deputy sarpanch Raghunath Sahu and burnt him alive. During the incident, people did not allow the police to enter the village. Many policemen including SP Abhishek Pallav were injured in the stone pelting. Mob lynching has happened due to old rivalry, political war and fight for supremacy between deputy sarpanch Raghunath and Shiv Prakash.

The police has registered an FIR against 161 people. More than 60 people have been arrested. Prashant Sahu was also among them, who died in police custody. In this case, Congress State President Baij said that – Congress has called for Chhattisgarh Bandh on Saturday, September 21, demanding an investigation into the police brutality in Kawardha and the murder of Prashant Sahu. Ever since the BJP government has been formed in the state, every citizen of Chhattisgarh is unsafe. Now criminal incidents have become unbearable .
