Political activity has intensified for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in various states. The BJP has begun the process of selecting its candidates and released the list.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its list of candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. The party has finalized nine candidates from Bihar, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Odisha, and West Bengal. The BJP has prioritized leaders with strong organizational influence in distributing tickets for the Rajya Sabha elections. Voting for 37 Rajya Sabha seats across 10 states is scheduled for March 16th. The notification has been issued. The last date for nominations is March 5th.
BJP National President Nitin Naveen has been nominated as the party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections from Bihar. Nitin Naveen has served as a five-time MLA from Bankipur, Patna, and has a strong presence in Bihar politics. The BJP has nominated Rahul Sinha from West Bengal, who is considered one of the party’s prominent faces in the state. Young leader Shivesh Kumar has also been nominated for the Rajya Sabha from Bihar. Elections are to be held for five Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar.
The party has fielded Terash Gowala and Jogen Mohan from Assam. Both leaders have played a key role in the state’s politics. Elections are to be held for three Rajya Sabha seats in Assam. The BJP has given tickets to Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar from Odisha. The BJP’s position is considered strong due to the BJP government in the state.
The saffron party has nominated Lakshmi Verma from Chhattisgarh. She has been active in the BJP Mahila Morcha and is known for her social work.
Two Rajya Sabha seats are falling vacant in Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, Sanjay Bhatia, who comes from an administrative background and has played a key role in the party organization, has been nominated for the Rajya Sabha from Haryana. Elections are also to be held for two Rajya Sabha seats in Haryana.
