Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer ₹18,650 crore, the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, to the accounts of approximately 93.2 million farmers across the country during a program in Guwahati, Assam, on March 13,2026.

This nationwide program will transfer ₹498.83 crore to the accounts of 247.1498 farmers in Chhattisgarh. Under this scheme, 292,000 forest patta holders and 37,400 Special Backward Tribe farmers in Chhattisgarh are also being benefited. This day will be celebrated as PM Kisan Utsav Day in all districts of the state.

Agriculture Department officials stated that under the PM Kisan Utsav, farmer meetings will be organised in various Gram Panchayats and the Prime Minister’s program will also be broadcast live so that farmers can directly participate.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSY) is characterised by its transparent system. Under the scheme, funds are transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts, completely eliminating the role of middlemen. Farmers can use this amount for their farming needs, such as seeds, fertilisers, and other agricultural activities, thereby reducing farming expenses and strengthening their financial situation.

It is worth mentioning that the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSY) was launched by the Prime Minister, with the first installment being released into farmers’ accounts in February 2019. Since the scheme’s inception, a total of ₹11,283 crore (109 lakh rupees) has been provided to farmers across the state, benefiting millions of farmer families.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the state government is also enrolling 292,000 forest leasehold farmers and 37,400 Particularly Backward Tribe (PVTG) farmers and benefiting them.

To provide benefits to farmers from Particularly Backward Tribes, the requirement for agricultural land has been relaxed. Under the scheme, all single and joint account holder farmer families whose names are registered in the land records can avail the benefits.

Giving general information regarding the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, it was stated that this scheme was implemented in December 2018 to provide financial assistance to farming families across the country.

This scheme is “100 per cent funded by the Government of India.” Under this scheme, eligible farmer families are provided with a “subsidy amount of ₹6,000 per year,” which is “transferred directly to the farmers’ bank accounts through DBT in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months.”

The scheme’s benefits are extended to farmers of all classes and categories whose names are recorded in land records. Under the scheme, “all single and joint account holder farmer families” whose names are recorded in land records, “forest rights leaseholder farmers,” and “farmers from particularly backward tribes” are eligible to receive benefits.
