Raipur: Following a joyous Holi celebration for farmers, this Navratri has now arrived bearing a message of prosperity and self-confidence for landless agricultural laborers as well. In Chhattisgarh, the schemes implemented by the ‘Good Governance’ government are now visibly serving as the foundation for direct transformation in the lives of the people. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai made these remarks while addressing a program organised in the Balodabazar district under the Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme.
During the program held on Wednesday March 25, 2026 in Balodabazar, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai transferred a total sum of ₹495,96,50,000 (₹495 Crores, 96 Lakhs, and 50 Thousand) into the accounts of 495,965 landless agricultural laborers across the state. He stated that this initiative is not merely a form of financial assistance, but a decisive step toward empowering both labor and dignity.

In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai affirmed that the promises made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Guarantee’ are being fulfilled by the government with both speed and transparency. He noted that receiving the differential amount regarding paddy procurement allowed farmers to celebrate Holi this year with great enthusiasm and satisfaction; similarly, the funds received by women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana on International Women’s Day have further strengthened their resolve toward self-reliance.
During the event, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also handed over keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme), symbolically marking their Griha Pravesh (housewarming). He highlighted that over 1.8 million houses have been sanctioned over the past two years, thereby adding a new chapter of stability and security to the lives of thousands of families.

Recalling the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Balodabazar, Chief Minister Sai paid his tributes to Baba Guru Ghasidas, Sant Kabir, and Martyr Veer Narayan Singh. He stated that under the Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme, financial assistance of ₹10,000 per annum is being provided to landless agricultural laborers, thereby enabling them to meet their families’ needs, support their children’s education, and expand their small businesses.
He noted that, in fulfillment of its promises to farmers, the government is procuring paddy at a rate of ₹3,100 per quintal. He further mentioned that the government has allocated over ₹10,000 crore to expand irrigation facilities across Chhattisgarh. Additionally, social and spiritual empowerment is being fostered through initiatives such as an increased procurement rate for Tendu leaves, the revival of the Charan Paduka Scheme, and the Ramlala Darshan and Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan schemes.
Referring to the Electricity Bill Settlement Scheme (Bijli Bill Samadhan Yojana), the Chief Minister explained that special rebates and easy installment options are being offered to facilitate the settlement of electricity bills that remained pending during the COVID-19 pandemic. This scheme will remain operational until June, and settlement camps are being organized across the state to facilitate this process.
Highlighting the holistic development of the state, the Chief Minister stated that the objective is to propel Chhattisgarh to new heights by optimizing the utilization of its mineral wealth, agricultural produce, and forest resources. Referring specifically to the Bastar region—which had long been plagued by Naxalism—he remarked that the area is now rapidly advancing toward peace, trust, and development. Thanks to the Central Government’s resolve and the valor of the security forces, Naxalism is now on the verge of eradication, and a new era of development has begun to flow through Bastar.
During the event, Chief Minister Sai inspected various departmental stalls and engaged in virtual interactions with beneficiaries from five districts to gather feedback regarding the impact of these welfare schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, Revenue Minister Tankram Verma stated that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is establishing new benchmarks in development. He asserted that the government’s success in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees within a short timeframe stands as a testament to its commitment and administrative efficiency.
Citing schemes such as the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the payment of the differential amount for paddy procurement, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme), he informed the gathering that housing units have already been sanctioned for 1.8 million underprivileged families. Revenue Minister Mr. Verma stated that the government is implementing various schemes with transparency and has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption.
Today, the funds allocated for these schemes are being transferred directly into the beneficiaries’ accounts, thereby strengthening both trust and transparency within the system. He extended his congratulations and best wishes to all landless agricultural laborers—particularly the Baiga-Guniya families—for receiving the benefits of this scheme.
Technical Education Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Gaurishankar Agarwal, along with other public representatives and officials, were present at the event.
