Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, on April 30, 2026 stated that ‘Matrushakti’ (women’s power) is not merely a subject of respect for him, but constitutes the very bedrock of creation, values, and capability.
Driven by this sentiment, a special one-day session was organised in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly to address the crucial subject of women’s holistic development and empowerment; during this session, extensive discussions were held regarding a resolution to implement a one-third reservation for women in the Parliament and in all legislative assemblies across the country.
Chief Minister Sai remarked that, building upon the strong foundation laid for the social and economic empowerment of women in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, the next significant step in this progression is to strengthen their political participation as well. This resolution represents a meaningful endeavor to fully integrate half of the nation’s population with their rightful entitlements.
Expressing his gratitude to Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh for convening this special session on such a vital subject, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai noted that this initiative would forever be remembered as a historic stride toward the empowerment of women.
He noted that the special session was graced by the dignified presence of women hailing from diverse sections and regions of society.
They articulated their views in support of this historic initiative, raising a powerful voice for women’s rights and empowerment.
Senior legislators and women leaders within the House also participated wholeheartedly in the deliberations, sharing their perspectives and lending their support to this pivotal resolution.
Chief Minister Sai unequivocally asserted that creating any form of impediment on the path toward upholding the dignity and rights of ‘Nari Shakti’ (women’s power) is unjustifiable.
He emphasised that this issue transcends partisan politics and is inextricably linked to the nation’s holistic development and its bright future; as such, it is imperative to extend support to every positive initiative undertaken in this direction.
