- As many as 39 Patients from Niyad Nellanar Receive Advanced Treatment at the District Hospital
Raipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Collector Amit Kumar, health screening and treatment activities are being conducted at an accelerated pace in Sukma district as part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan’ (Chief Minister’s Healthy Bastar Campaign).
The primary objective of this campaign is to provide timely medical facilities to needy citizens residing in remote and interior regions. In furtherance of this goal, a total of 39 patients from villages such as Aralampalli, Polampalli, Dornapal, Bagdeguada, Rangaiguada, Kolaiguada, and Pentapad—located in the remote Niyad Nellanar area of the Konta development block—were brought to the District Hospital, Sukma, for examination and treatment.
At the District Hospital, these patients underwent thorough examinations to ensure appropriate treatment; specifically, 16 individuals were provided with presbyopic glasses, and 8 patients successfully underwent cataract surgeries.
Additionally, 5 high-risk pregnant women from the Gogunda hilly region of Niyad Nellanar were safely transported to the hospital for check-ups and were subsequently sent back after receiving necessary health counseling. Furthermore, 6 patients from Kosaguada were referred for ultrasound scans and blood transfusions, while 4 patients suffering from swelling in their limbs also received treatment and relief.
According to information received from the District Hospital, the total target for health screenings in Sukma district under the ‘Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan’ has been set at 293,386 individuals; of this target, health screenings for 154,157 people have already been completed.
During these screenings, a total of 4,990 patients were identified as suffering from various ailments—including cataracts, malaria, leprosy, tuberculosis (TB), anemia, high-risk pregnancies, malnutrition in children, high blood pressure, and diabetes—and are currently receiving treatment at Primary Health Centers, Community Health Centers, and the District Hospital. Collector Amit Kumar stated that, through the ‘Chief Minister’s Swasth Bastar Abhiyan’ (Healthy Bastar Campaign), priority is being accorded to the task of extending superior healthcare services to the remote and interior regions of the district.
Our objective is to ensure that no needy citizen is deprived of medical treatment. Under the aegis of this campaign, identified patients are being brought to the District Hospital in a timely manner to receive diagnostic tests, medical treatment, surgical procedures, and other essential facilities.
Demonstrating both human sensitivity and administrative promptness, arrangements were also made to ensure the safe return of all patients to their homes following the completion of their medical treatment. At 6:00 AM, four ambulances were stationed at the District Hospital; the patients were served breakfast and subsequently transported back to their respective villages.
This arrangement stands as a testament to the fact that the government and the administration take the healthcare needs of the people in remote regions seriously, providing them with medical treatment with dignity and security.
