Raipur: As part of the “Sushasan Tihar” (Good Governance Festival), Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today on Saturday May 16, 2026 conducted a surprise inspection of Village Kosla, located within the Pamgarh development block of the Janjgir-Champa district.
An atmosphere of palpable excitement swept across the entire region the moment Chief Minister Sai arrived in the village. Chief Minister Sai’s remarkably natural, warm, and humble persona was on full display when, eschewing all formalities, he sat on a traditional khat (cot) amidst the villagers at a chaupal (community gathering) held under the shade of the village’s Peepal tree, engaging them in direct conversation. This scene became a memorable moment for the villagers, and the chaupal itself emerged as a shining example of heartfelt dialogue and sensitive governance.

Sai listened intently to the villagers’ grievances and issued directives to the concerned officials to ensure their prompt resolution.
The Chief Minister stated that the primary objective of “Sushasan Tihar” is to establish a direct channel of communication between the government and the public, and to ensure that the benefits of various schemes reach the very last person in society.
Sai affirmed that the state government is working tirelessly to bring about positive transformations in the lives of women, farmers, the underprivileged, and needy families.
During his interaction with the villagers, the Chief Minister specifically inquired, “Does the Patwari (village revenue official) visit the village regularly?” Upon receiving an affirmative response from the villagers, the Chief Minister directed the village Patwari, Shatrughan Kurre, to ensure the expeditious resolution of issues faced by the villagers and farmers, thereby ensuring that citizens do not have to wander from place to place for the completion of minor administrative tasks.
The Chief Minister categorically stated that the common citizens should not face any form of inconvenience whatsoever.
During the chaupal, Savitri Kashyap of Village Kosla informed the Chief Minister that she has been regularly receiving her monthly financial assistance under the “Mahtari Vandan Yojana.” She stated that this scheme is providing significant assistance in fulfilling the family’s various needs—both small and large—and has fostered greater economic self-reliance.
Engaging in a warm and personal interaction with the women, the Chief Minister remarked that the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ is emerging as a pillar of economic support for hundreds of thousands of women across the state.
During this interaction, Neema Tiwari—a local resident recognised as a ‘Lakhpati Didi’ (a woman who has achieved financial prosperity)—informed the Chief Minister that after joining the ‘Bihan Yojana’, she initially received financial assistance amounting to ₹15,000. Subsequently, she established a flour mill business, and today, she successfully operates five such mills.
Commending her success, the Chief Minister encouraged her to inspire other women in the village to join Self-Help Groups and strive for self-reliance.
The Chief Minister also inquired about the implementation status of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ (Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme) within the village. Officials reported that over the past two and a half years, approvals under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have been granted to “as many as 474 families” in the village of Kosla.
The Chief Minister assured that, through the ‘Awas Plus’ survey, all eligible beneficiaries who may have been inadvertently left out will also be extended the benefits of the scheme. He noted that immediately upon assuming office, the government had approved the construction of “1.8 million (18 lakh) houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana”, and now, the dream of owning a permanent home is becoming a reality for thousands of families.
During the ‘Jan Chaupal’ (public outreach session), Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai took prompt action regarding the villagers’ demands and made several significant announcements. With a focus on enhancing the convenience and empowerment of women, he announced the construction of a ‘Mahtari Sadan’ (Women’s Center) in the village of Kosla.
Additionally, recognising the need for improved educational facilities in the region, he announced the construction of a Higher Secondary School building. These announcements by the Chief Minister generated an atmosphere of great enthusiasm among the villagers, particularly among the women and students.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the state government is continuously working in the best interests of farmers, noting that paddy is currently being procured from them at a rate of ₹3,100 per quintal—thereby ensuring they receive a remunerative price for their produce.
Sai further stated that, through the ‘Sushasan Tihar’ (Good Governance Festival) initiative, elected representatives and government officials are reaching out to every village to resolve people’s grievances and are striving to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the very last person in society.
On this occasion, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Rajat Bansal, Collector Janmejay Mahobe, and Superintendent of Police Nivedita Pal were present, along with a large number of villagers.
