Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai displayed a tough stance on Thursday May 21, 2026 regarding the issue of drinking water supply, while reviewing the functioning of officials during a ‘Chaupal’ (public interaction session) held in Korea district as part of the ‘Sushasan Tihar’ (Good Governance Festival).
The Chief Minister adopted a strict approach concerning drinking water arrangements.
The Chief Minister issued clear directives stating that the supply of drinking water must not be disrupted anywhere—be it in villages or urban local bodies. He emphasised that it would be unacceptable under any circumstances for the general public to have to struggle with water shortages during the summer season, he stressed.
Noting that various parts of the state have been facing drinking water issues over the past few days, he directed officials to resolve these problems immediately, warning that negligence at any level would not be tolerated, CM Sai remarked.
Chief Minister Sai stated that should a drinking water crisis arise, the concerned Collector would be held accountable. He further directed officials to ensure that the construction of water tanks currently underway is completed within the stipulated timeframe. Furthermore, in areas where the construction of tanks is still in progress, measures must be implemented to establish alternative arrangements and ensure a regular supply of water to the residents, Sai noted.
