Sania Bano and Aman Kumar, who had been in a relationship for four years in Pratapgarh, got married in a temple following a six-hour police-mediated meeting and the consent of the woman’s father. This marriage has become a shining example of love and harmony in the area.
Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh ) : A unique example of love and harmony has emerged from Pratapgarh in Yogi’s Uttar Pradesh. Here, Sania Bano and Aman Kumar tied the knot in a temple after a six-hour police-mediated meeting and the father’s consent. This marriage, which overcame social barriers, has now become a topic of discussion across the region.
The incident took place in Daudpur village. Sania Bano and Aman Kumar, both residents of the village, lived just 300 meters apart. The two had been in love for four years. When news of the relationship reached the young woman’s father, Khurshid Alam, he objected and lodged a complaint at the Patti police station on Saturday June 20, 2026 . Subsequently, the police summoned boath parties to the station.
A ‘police panchayat’ (mediation meeting) ensued at the station, lasting nearly six hours. Police officials patiently counseled both sides and attempted to resolve the matter. After lengthy discussions, at 4 PM, Sania’s father prioritised his daughter’s happiness and gave his consent to the relationship. The atmosphere of tension transformed into one of joy the moment the father agreed.
Once consent was secured, Sania and Aman’s marriage was solemnised in a temple with full rituals. The couple followed Hindu customs and sought blessings from their parents.
The young woman voluntarily chose Aman as her life partner and submitted an affidavit to that effect. To avoid any future disputes, the couple also had a notarised affidavit prepared. Khurshid Alam and Amar Bahadur, both from the village, served as witnesses.
This wedding is not merely a union of two hearts; it has become a testament to the ‘victory of love’ and ‘communal harmony.’
A six-hour-long panchayat did not tear a family apart; instead, it united two families. This message of love from Pratapgarh holds a lesson for the entire state and the country .
