Raipur: Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal on Wednesday October 2 participated in various programmes on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his statue located at Azad Chowk and did shramdaan in the Swachhata Abhiyan along with Honorable Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and local dignitaries.
Brijmohan Agrawal paid homage to Pt Lal Bahadur Shastri by garlanding his statue at Shastri Chowk. Apart from this, he participated in Gandhi Jayanti, Seva Pakhwada program organised at Bazaar Chowk, Mathpuraina and did shramdaan. Along with this, he also administered the oath of cleanliness to the public.
While felicitating Safai Mitras on this occasion, he said that Mahatma Gandhi had said that cleanliness is more important than freedom. Cleanliness is not only important for physical health but also for mental and spiritual development. A clean India will be a healthy India and for this every person needs to be made aware of cleanliness individually and collectively. If we do not maintain cleanliness, the environment around us will become polluted and diseases will surround us. For this, cleanliness is important. Our Safai Mitras save all of us from diseases by cleaning, for which it is important to respect them.
MP Agarwal also said that the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only made the Swachhata Abhiyan a mass movement, but also worked to spread awareness about cleanliness among the people through it and establish cleanliness as a responsibility in the country. He presented it as a national mission, as a result of which not only has awareness about cleanliness increased among the general public across the country, but active participation is also being seen. On this occasion, he attended the free health and blood donation camp at Nutan School, Tikrapara and distributed medicines, as well as honored doctors and nurses .
