Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday July 9 , 2026 said that ‘Didi Ke Goth’ has emerged as a powerful platform for inspiring women across Chhattisgarh by sharing real-life stories of entrepreneurship, innovation and self-reliance.
Addressing the ‘Didi Ke Goth’ Annual Celebration-2026 and Cluster-Level Organisation Conference at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, the Chief Minister said the programme is motivating thousands of women to become economically independent through the success stories of fellow self-help group members.

Marking one year of the initiative, the Chief Minister released the ‘Didi Ke Goth’ Coffee Table Book, ‘Bihan Vani’ quarterly magazine, and the ‘Mor Gaon Mor Pani’ publication. He also felicitated women who shared their inspiring journeys through the programme and interacted with members of self-help groups after visiting an exhibition showcasing all 12 episodes aired over the past year.
Sai described the programme as a unique platform where one successful woman becomes a source of inspiration for thousands of others by narrating her own journey in her native dialect.
He highlighted the remarkable transformation of women associated with the Bihan Mission, saying many have become Drone Didis, Lakhpati Didis, organic farmers, livestock entrepreneurs, masons and rural business owners, contributing significantly to their families and the state’s economy.
The Chief Minister also interacted virtually with Lakhpati Didi Vidya Nishad from Durg district, who narrated how support from the Bihan Mission helped her rebuild her life after losing her husband during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, she successfully runs a garment and fancy store, earning more than ₹5 lakh annually.
Sai reiterated the government’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment, highlighting welfare initiatives such as Mahtari Vandan Yojana, under which nearly 70 lakh women receive monthly financial assistance, and various livelihood programmes that are enabling women to become financially independent.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said Didi Ke Goth has become a knowledge-sharing platform for women, while Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade said empowering women remains central to the state’s development vision.
The programme also showcased the achievements of the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), whose monthly radio programme has completed 12 episodes, covering topics ranging from women entrepreneurs and Drone Didis to financial inclusion, Farmer Producer Companies, cyber awareness and successful elected women representatives.
