The issue of seat sharing in Maharashtra Mahayuti has almost been resolved. After meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar have returned to Maharashtra, while Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is currently in Delhi and will return to Maharashtra soon. Seat sharing was discussed extensively in the meeting held at Shah’s house late at night.

Sources said that the seat sharing formula could be like this: BJP can contest on 156 seats, Shinde’s Shiv Sena can contest on 78 seats, Ajit Pawar’s NCP can contest on 54 seats, and in case a party does not have a winning candidate, it can get plus-minus in 5 seats.

Amit Shah has said that the issue of some seats will be resolved at the state level. Apart from this, it has been decided to exchange some sitting seats of BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena, in which there will be anti-incumbency against the candidate. A joint statement of Mahayuti can also be issued today, Shah has asked everyone to join the campaign vigorously.

The last election was fought jointly by BJP-Shiv Sena.
