Mumbai : Shrikant Pangarkar, accused in the murder case of journalist Gauri Lankesh, has entered politics. Shrikant Pangarkar has joined Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) just before the Maharashtra Assembly Elections. Shrikant Pangarkar joined Shiv Sena in the presence of former state minister Arjun Khotkar.
Let us inform you that Gauri Lankesh was murdered at her house in Bengaluru on 5 September 2017. Many people were arrested in this case. Panagarkar was arrested by the police in 2018 in this case. However, the Karnataka High Court granted him bail on 4 September this year.
Shrikant Pangarkar has been named as the head of the Jalna assembly election campaign. Former state minister Arjun Khotkar wants to contest the assembly elections from Jalna, but discussions are still going on in the Mahayuti (Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar-led NCP alliance) on seat sharing.
Shrikant Pangarkar joins Shiv Sena
According to a PTI report, Shiv Sena did not give him a ticket in 2011, due to which he joined Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. He now joined the Shinde-led Shiv Sena on Friday October 18,2024 in the presence of party leader and former state minister Arjun Khotkar. Pangarkar is a former Shiv Sainik and has returned to the party.
