Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has so far announced the names of 36 candidates for the assembly elections. On Wednesday October23 ,2024 the party released the second list, in which the only name is of Mahua Maji. She is a candidate from Ranchi seat. Mahua Maji is currently a Rajya Sabha MP and her term is left for about three years. She has also been a candidate of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha from Ranchi assembly seat in 2014 and 2019. In the 2019 elections, she was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party candidate CP Singh by about five thousand votes.
The party released the first list of candidates for 35 seats late on Tuesday October 22 ,2024 night. Hemant Soren will contest from his traditional seat Barhet, while his wife Kalpana Soren will be a candidate from Gandey seat of Giridih district. Hemant Soren’s brother Basant Soren has once again been made a candidate from Dumka seat.
Alok Soren, son of Nalin Soren, who was recently elected as MP from Dumka Lok Sabha seat, has been given ticket from Shikaripara, while Jagat Manjhi, son of Chaibasa MP Joba Manjhi, has been fielded from Manoharpur seat. The party has cut the ticket of Dinesh William Marandi, the only sitting MLA from Littipara, from whose seat Hemlal Murmu has been made the candidate in his place. MT Raja from Rajmahal, Dhananjay Soren from Borio, Stephen Marandi from Maheshpur, Ravindra Nath Mahato from Nala, Hafizul Hasan Ansari from Madhupur, Uday Shankar Singh alias Chunna Singh from Sarath, Sudivya Kumar Sonu from Giridih, Baby Devi from Dumri, Umakant Rajak from Chandankiyari, Mathura Prasad Mahato from Tundi, Sameer Kumar Mohanty from Baharagora have been made the candidates.
Similarly, Ramdas Soren from Ghatshila, Sanjeev Sardar from Potka, Mangal Kalindi from Jugsalai, Savita Mahato from Ichagarh, Deepak Birua from Chaibasa seat, Niral Purti from Majhgaon, Dashrath Gagrai from Kharsawan and Vikas Munda from Tamar seat, Sandeep Gudiya from Torpa, Bhushan Tirkey from Gumla, Vaidyanath Ram from Latehar, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur from Garhwa, Kedar Hazra from Jamua, Anant Pratap Dev from Bhawanathpur, Manoj Chandra from Simaria, Amit Mahato from Silli, Janaki Yadav from Barkatha and Nizamuddin Ansari from Dhanwar are the candidates.
