A celebration at Pragati College where newly admitted Journalism students allured the event through music, songs, and dance

The senior students showcased the lively and welcoming environment for new students in the Journalism Department. 

Raipur: The Journalism Department at Pragati College , Choubey Colony organised an induction ceremony for the first-semester students . Senior students welcomed and took introduction of the new students.

The event began with the Performing Saraswati Puja by lightning the lamp before the Goddess of knowledge and Wisdom, following the cutting of a cake by the first-semester students.

Besides all the newcomers intriduced themselves to their seniors revealing their interests, educational backgrounds and hobbies one after one .

Some students performed songs and music based on their interests, while others added to the celebration with dance.


On this occasion, Principal Soumya Nayyar while addressing the students said that Journalism is certainly a huge field that coalesces the practice of reporting on news and events with the study of communiqué, morals, and various media platforms, showcasing a journalist’s writing and investigative  talent. It serves to inform society by spreading  facts, shaping public discourse, and holding institutions accountable, requiring a varied skill set including writing, investigation , critical thinking, technological adaptability, and ethical deliberations, Principal added.

Administrator Jyoti Thakur and other teachers wished the newly admitted students a bright future and motivated them to remain active in co-curricular activities along with studies.
This program, which was held in a cordial atmosphere, was a pleasant and memorable experience for the students of first and third semester.
The program was conducted by Shikha Sahu, a student of third semester.

College Principal Dr. Soumya nayyar , Administrator Jyoti Thakur, Head of the Department of Journalism Dr. Praveen Kumar Yadav, Head of the Department of Education Dr. K.N. Gajpal, Professors of Journalism Department Kumar Bahukhandi , Sanjeev Verma, and Sunil Singh were present on the ocasion .

    Kumar has written mostly short stories and on human behavior that changed the day to day course of the people who engineered them. He says I am always myself... I just hate being someone else...It's so fake and unreal..."!!I have an everyday religion that works for me. Love yourself first, and everything else falls into line...... I am just a next door person A friend of friends, A Journalist ,who respects every person regardless of his/her stature (but yes, disregards cunning and selfish people).Learnt to get in touch with the silence within myself and knew that everything in life has a purpose. A very simple, Introvert person who believe in "Simple Living and High Thinking", trusts in Modesty. Very truthful to self basic instincts, work, hobbies and family. I Always Listen and Obey what my heart, my inner voice, my soul tells me. I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others.
