Raipur: A significant and golden opportunity has emerged for the children of insured workers employed in Chhattisgarh’s organised sector to build a career in the field of medical education (MBBS/BDS). The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)—operating under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India—has reserved 700 seats for the children of insured workers across its 20 prestigious medical colleges nationwide. The original deadline for online applications was May 31, but this has now been extended to June 21, 2026.

Admission to be Granted Through NEET UG

According to official information received from the Office of the Labour Commissioner, eligible candidates for these reserved seats will be selected based on their performance in the NEET UG examination. The deadline for submitting online applications for this process has been set as June 21, 2026. Students who meet the specified eligibility criteria are encouraged to visit the official website of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC Official Website) and submit their applications without delay.

Main Objective of the Scheme

Officials from the Labor Department stated that the primary objective of this special reservation policy is to provide talented children from organised-sector working-class families with enhanced opportunities for high-quality medical education. This initiative will enable students hailing from economically weaker sections or ordinary backgrounds to fulfill their dream of becoming doctors without facing any financial barriers.

The Office of the Labour Commissioner has issued a special appeal to all workers across the state to timely convey information regarding this ambitious scheme to their eligible and interested children, and to avail themselves of this golden opportunity by ensuring the submission of as many applications as possible before the deadline.
