Raipur: A meeting was held on Friday February 27, 2026 in the committee room of the Assembly under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Vikassheel regarding the preparations for the Pravasi Chhattisgarhiya Sammelan.

Secretary of the Public Relations Department, Rohit Yadav, and Commissioner Dr. Ravi Mittal, provided detailed information on the preparations. Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and other senior officials from the relevant departments were also present in the meeting .

It was informed that, similar to the Raipur Literature Festival, a grand Pravasi Chhattisgarhiya Sammelan will be held in Nava Raipur on March 27th and 28th, 2026.

Residents of Chhattisgarh living abroad will be invited to this conference. A portal has been created for this purpose, and registration is being conducted through this portal. Programs related to Chhattisgarhi folk traditions and culture will also be organised at the conference.

Chief Secretary Vikassheel expressed his appreciation for this initiative to connect Chhattisgarh residents living abroad with the local population. He described the Pravasi Chhattisgarhiya Sammelan as a great opportunity for both the state and the migrants., CS added.

The Chief Secretary stated in the meeting that he had directed to provide all the necessary facilities to the expatriate Chhattisgarh residents attending the summit.

The Chief Secretary directed officials from the relevant departments to cooperate with the conference.

He also spoke about honoring those from Chhattisgarh living abroad who are bringing honor to Chhattisgarh by doing outstanding work in their respective fields.


Officials at the meeting informed that guidance sessions should be held for the youth of Chhattisgarh with experts from various fields, so that they can benefit.


Migrants from various fields will be invited to invest here. If NRIs agree to invest or work in any sector, MOUs will be signed with them. Chhattisgarhi cuisine will also be served during the NRI Chhattisgarhi Conference.


Presidents of the Chhattisgarh Sahitya Academy Shashank Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department Niharika Barik, Principal Secretary of the Tribal Development Department, Sonmoni Borah , Secretary of the Industries Department, Rajat Kumar, CEO of the State Capital Region, Ankit Anand, Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Dr. S. Bharatidasan, Home Secretary Neha Champawat, Secretary of Village Industries Department Shyam Dhavade, Chandan Kumar, Director of Culture Department Vivek Acharya and other senior officers were present on the occasion .
