Regular monthly financial assistance is strengthening household security, boosting women’s confidence, and paving the way for greater economic independence across the state.
Ripur : The Mahtari Vandan Scheme, one of the flagship welfare initiatives of the Chhattisgarh Government, is steadily emerging as a powerful instrument of women’s economic empowerment. By providing eligible women with ₹1,000 every month, the scheme is helping them meet household expenses, reduce financial dependence, and participate more actively in family decision-making.
Across the state, lakhs of women are benefiting from the programme, which has become a reliable source of financial support for families while reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive development and women’s welfare.
One such inspiring story is that of Geeta Yadav, a resident of Masoura village in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) district, whose life has witnessed a positive transformation through the scheme.
Since the launch of the programme, Geeta has received 28 monthly instalments amounting to ₹28,000, providing her family with much-needed financial stability.
According to Geeta, the monthly assistance has become an invaluable support system for managing everyday household expenses. From purchasing essential groceries to meeting small but important family needs, the regular financial aid has eased the burden on the household budget.
She recalls that before receiving the assistance, even routine expenses often posed financial challenges. Today, the assured monthly support enables her to plan household expenditures more effectively and reduces her dependence on others for meeting day-to-day requirements.
However, Geeta believes the impact of the Mahtari Vandan Scheme extends beyond financial assistance.
“The scheme has given me confidence and a sense of self-worth,” she says. “Today, I feel that I am contributing meaningfully to my family’s well-being. It has empowered me not only financially but also emotionally.”
Her experience reflects the broader objective of the initiative—to ensure that women are not merely recipients of welfare but active participants in strengthening their families and communities.
Expressing her gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Women & Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade, Geeta says the Mahtari Vandan Scheme has become a blessing for millions of women across Chhattisgarh.
With guaranteed monthly financial support, beneficiaries are increasingly able to manage household responsibilities with confidence, improve their quality of life, and take meaningful steps towards economic independence.
As the scheme continues to reach more households across the state, it is not only improving family finances but also reinforcing the idea that empowering women is fundamental to building stronger families, resilient communities, and a more inclusive Chhattisgarh.
