Hyderabad: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy has criticised the arrest of actor Allu Arjun, labeling it as “irresponsible and unwarranted.” In a post on X, he stated:
“The arrest of Shri Allu Arjun is irresponsible & unwarranted. The intent behind this arrest seems motivated as the organizers of the show claim to have informed the concerned authorities in advance.
Moreover, the onus and responsibility of law & order lies with the police authorities, and this arrest clearly intends to target an individual. The arrest also reminds us of the targeting and witch-hunting of cine artists in the state. I condemn the arrest and the high-handedness of the administration.” He tagged Allu Arjun in his post with @alluarjun. Earlier on the same day, Bandi Sanjay Kumar also criticised the Congress government for the decision to arrest Allu Arjun.
Hyderabad : Telangana High Court here on Friday December 13 , 2024 granted interim bail to the film actor Allu Arjun in connection with the stampede case registered by the Chikkadpally police.
The court gave the order in response to a squash petition filed by Allu Arjun’s lawyers. A few minutes after the arrest of Allu Arjun by the Chikkadpally police in connection with the stampede at Sandhya theatre during the screening of Pushpa-2 movie on December 4,2024 the police took him to the Gandhi hospital for medical checkup.
Accompanied by the police escort team, the Chikkadpally police produced him in the Nampally court, which remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. Anticipating that a large number of Allu Arjun’s fans would throng the court, the Hyderabad police made massive security arrangements.
A rope party police team was also deployed at the main entrance of the court to prevent the entry of others into the court premises. The police allowed only those who are having valid identity cards and the court duty staff into the premises.
Earlier at the Gandhi hospital, Allu Arjun waved to the crowd after undergoing a medical examination, which is mandatory as per norms after the arrest.

The police have filed charges against Allu Arjun, the Sandhya Theatre management, and his security team. Authorities noted that they had not received any prior information about the actor’s presence at the event, contributing to the lack of adequate security arrangements.
During the arrest, a high drama was witnessed since Allu Arjun was a bit disappointed as police barged into his house and bedroom too in midnight at 12.15 am and took him into custody.

Earlier on December 4, a tragic incident occurred during the screening of Pushpa The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The chaos erupted when large crowds gathered to see the film’s star, Allu Arjun, who was present at the event along with music director Devi Sri Prasad. The theatre’s main gate collapsed in the ensuing turmoil, triggering a stampede. A 35-year-old woman tragically lost her life, while her 9-year-old son suffered severe injuries.
Following the incident, Allu Arjun expressed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and shared his sorrow over the tragic loss. He also donated Rs 25 Lakh to the family.
“Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extending every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey,” the actor said.

Hyderabad: Popular film actor Allu Arjun was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Friday December 13 , 2024 afternoon in connection with the stampede that took place in Sandhya theatre a few days ago.
On December 4, 2024 a 39-year-old woman named Revathi died in a stampede at Sandhya theatre during Pushpa-2 premiere show. Her son suffered serious injuries in the incident. He is undergoing treatment in a corporate hospital.
The theatre owner and two managers were arrested earlier. Following the arrest of Allu Arjun, the police made elaborate security arrangements at the Chikkadpally police who booked a case against him after a stampede in Sandhya theatre during the premier show of Pushpa-2 movie.
